So… How do we stop that vicious cycle and keep that weight off and feel good and not only meet our goals, but exceed them so we have the opportunities to make new goals and truly live a healthy life?

Healthy living does not mean boiled chicken and kale in all of our smoothies. So you’d like to lose weight and spice up your boring gym routine. Let’s do it! Forget all the pre-conceived notions that society tends to shove down our throats for healthy living and what it means. Forget boiled chicken, and forget kale at every meal. While Kale has it’s place… Boiled chicken? No. Healthy eating can be so yummy, y’all.

There’s no such thing as one size fits all. Because if there was, then it means we’d all look the same, act the same and be the same. Another thing to keep in mind is that skinny does not equal healthy. There is a dangerous trend that seems to be going around that skinny equals healthy and that is absolutely not true.

Like I said, the beauty of step one is that because you’re reading this post, it means that you have already made the decision for a healthier life but you’re not quite sure how to get started again. It’s a bit overwhelming.
Sometimes the best way to make you feel like you’re making progress is to be able to check something off of your list. So let’s talk through what this step entails and see if you’re ready to check off step one!
Making the decision that you want to make a change is huge. This is not a crash diet nor is it depriving yourself of food with flavor (more on that in a bit). Small steps that you take every single day are what help you build the habit of living the healthy lifestyle and sooner than you think, you will be living the healthy life without even thinking about it. Why? Because it has become habit.

Believe it or not, you have a brand and the best thing about having a brand is that you get to decide what it is and what it says about you.
Healthy Lifestyle Tips Step 2- Set 2 Goals
Setting goals is huge when it comes to starting your new healthy lifestyle. The first two goals need to be set around physical activity and the foods you eat. Your goals act as your compass. They guide you in what steps to take next on your journey.
Remember to set realistic goals for yourself and set a time frame. Realistic goals look something like this – if you’re going to the gym once a week now, and you want to make progress quicker, start going 3-4 times a week. Healthy Lifestyle Tips 3 – Eat Real Food!
We probably all know the most annoying saying in the fitness industry… “Abs are made in the kitchen and not the gym”. Yeah yeah, so what does that even mean, right? If you want to start feeling right, be fit, and live the lifestyle you’ve wanted, it all starts in the kitchen.
Because food = fuel and bad fuel puts out bad energy!
It’s like a fancy dancy car, right? You don’t put 89 octane in a fancy car. No! You put the good stuff in there.
Same goes with food. My mama always said “garbage in garbage out”. It’s perfect because it plays right into what we’re talking about. If you put garbage in your body then the output of your body will be garbage! Translation – eat good foods and you’ll feel better, sleep better, have more energy, etc.
How do you start doing that? Start with meats (that don’t have added hormones), fruits and vegetables. When you’re in the grocery store, typically real food is around the edges of the store. The produce section, the meats, dairy, etc. Remember what I said about healthy eating doesn’t equal boiled chicken and kale in everything? This is exactly what I’m talking about – try new recipes! I like this cookbook because it has great recipes that don’t take 12 days to cook. Good food on a time budget? Yes, please!

Are you ready to get your life back? You can do this. It’s hard work, but guess what? You’re already a hard worker and you have determination and grit. You’ve proven that in your everyday life.
This is the part where you take charge of your life and live your best life. No, it may not be January 1 but that doesn’t mean you can’t take control and start your life headed back in the right direction. You get one life and these three steps will help you life your best life while enjoying the fruits of your labors.
